Wetsuit range from a thin (2 mm or less) 3mm shorties, covering just the torso, to a full 8 mm semi-dry, usually complemented by neoprene boots, neoprene gloves and hood. Incorporating Lycra into the backing permits a large amount of stretching that does not damage the wetsuit, and allowed suits to become closer fitting.
